Explanation why fats are weight loss biggest enemies
Here I want to make an explanation about fats. You have heard that fats are biggest weight loss enemies, but did you ever ask why. Why not carbohydrates or protein. OK, let explain why.
Carbohydrates are weight loss enemy too, but only if you take more than your body needs. Your body uses them for energy more than fats or proteins. Most of the foods you eat contain more carbohydrates than protein and fats, so you have to be careful with them.
But this still doesn’t explain why fats are the worst during weight loss diet.
Reasons why fats are weight loss enemies:
- Calories they contain;
- Calories from fats are more easily to be stored as fat, than calories from carbohydrates;
- Almost every food contains fats;
Detailed explanations.
1) Fats contain more calories than proteins and carbohydrates.
- Protein contains 4 calories per gram
- Carbohydrates contain 4 calories per gram
- Fat contains 9 calories per gram
What do you think? This is twice than carbos and protein. Now you know why fats are so dangerous. Think about alcohol. It contains only fats. With 9 calories per gram this means that 200gr of alcohol contains… ok you can do the math.
Next time when you make your breakfast nutrition or daily weight loss plan reduce fats amount. Take more protein, less carbos and if you can no fats. Actually it depends. There are different types of fats.
Vegetable and animal fats. Look at the end of the article for foods contain fats.
When you look at the content of the food, multiply fats by 2. This will balance calories from fats, carbos and protein.
2) Sometimes is difficult to achieve weight loss, because calories from fats are more easily to be stored as fat.
Your body stores fats from food directly into the fatty cells. After that you have to do long cardio to burn them from there. This is the purpose of fats.
As I said your body uses calories from carbos for energy more than calories from fats. Try to take most of the fats after training or/and with your breakfast. You have good chance to digest fats when you take them at proper time.
If you do not take fats from food you will be able to keep fats burnt.
3) Be careful with your weight loss nutrition, because almost every food contain fats.
Some foods contain only fats, but there aren’t foods without fats. Most of the foods contain mix of carbohydrates, fats and protein. This is better than only fats, but anyway you have to be careful when choose your weight loss foods.
Meat contains fats too – bad fats, you have to know that, especially red meat. Good tip is to choose vegetable fats for your diet, because vegetable fats are good fats and it is more likely to absorb them.
Fat sources:
1) Saturated fat acids:
- palm oil, coco oil, all animal meat sources, bacon, red meat, solid cheese, ice-cream, yolk, chicken skin.
2) Mono-nonsaturated fat acids:
- chicken meat, olives, some of the fish species.
3) Polynonsaturated fat acids:
- Soya, walnuts, so of the fish species.
Try to build your weight loss nutrition and especially fats around polynonsaturated and monononsaturated fats.
Saturated fats (animal fats) are the worst choice.
